Well, I survived the Houston APCO experience. Had a great time, didn't melt (in fact, there were complaints that the show hall was too cold at times).
All the usual suspects were there and the facility and hotel were both excellent.
I added a couple of product lines to WarnCon's offerings and will be posting them soon right here on this blog. I hope you'll come back and look for them later.
On a personal note, I was elected Chair of the Commercial Advisory Council (CAC) and will serve for the next four years. If you are a supplier or even an APCO member and have a question for or about the CAC, go to my website and use the contact link to send me an e-mail.
Let us hear from you.... post on the new Comm Center Forum if you are a dispatcher. See it's link at http://www.warncon.com/ as well.
Type to you soon ..... Rick

Now There's a Forum Just for Telecommunicators
Effective immediately WarnCon, LLC is hosting a live posting forum exclusively for telecommunicators (dispatchers). Yes, it is a social network, but not through the usually BLOCKED Facebook, Twitter and other sources.
It is provided as a place to post your problems and read those concerns of other 911 operators and call center personnel. Take some time and go to www.warncon.com and sign up. Then you can stop by regularly as see who shares the problems you thought were exclusive to your agency.
It is our intention to make this available strictly to basic telecommunicators and mid-level managers... NOT top level supervisors. We want you to be able to speak freely about time and wage issues as well as items that will improve your day-to-day operations.
We should remind you that all HIPPA laws apply and that you should NEVER post anything derogatory about your fellow employees. This is not a flame zone, it is a place to seek knowledge and provide help to those who need it.
Check it out. It's free and it's for you.
